The Story - I Love Diamonds
On my 10th Birthday my uncle, who was a diamond cutter, gave me a tiny diamond, which he had perfectly polished to a brilliant stone. The diamond just had a diameter of 1 mm and I could not believe that someone could sharpen such a small gem so perfectly. From this birthday forward my fascination with diamonds transformed my life.
Possessing that diamond gave me the feeling of internal strength, and for that reason, I always carried it with me. I took a look at it whenever I could. I was truly spellbound. Naturally, after various levels of education at the Gemology Institute of Vienna, Austria, I worked at my father’s company as a diamond dealer.
One can truly say that I became addicted to diamonds.
The clarity, the purity, the perfect cut of a polished diamond is simply indescribable. The perfect relationship of edges, facets and angles produces a sparkling - a fire - which jumps out at all that see it.
After I had told this story to my son, naturally he also wanted his first diamond for his 10th Birthday, so I wanted to make the event special for him.
Little did I know at the time that I had invented the Diamond Card.
